Morocco Launches "English Time" Radio Program to Boost Youth Language Skills

The Ministry of National Education, the National Radio and Television Company and the British Council are strengthening their cooperation in the field of learning the English language in Morocco.
During the ceremony presided over by Minister Saaïd Amzazi, the President of the National Radio and Television Company (SNRT), Mr. Faïçal Laraichi, signed with Mr. Tony Riley, Director of the British Council in Morocco, a partnership agreement for the broadcast of a new radio program for the learning of the English language starting next September.
This program, entitled "English Time" is aimed at young students and consists of 43 episodes of 15 minutes each and offers children and their parents the opportunity to practice and apply English, focusing on the basic skills of the language.
According to a statement from the ministry, "the new program was prepared, following the remarkable success of the "Obla Air" program, designed by the British Council as part of its cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and the SNRT. It is renewed following the positive feedback from teachers, students and their families since the launch of the program and its broadcast as part of the distance education process via television and radio during the confinement period imposed by the covid-19 pandemic."
And to add that this new program is part of a set of educational initiatives jointly implemented by the three parties over the past two years, with the aim of providing digital resources for the teaching and learning of English for Moroccan teachers, students and students.
The SNRT has joined it in order to strengthen its efforts to achieve the general objectives of media services in the fields of encouraging education, openness to foreign languages and cultures, promoting communication and intercultural exchanges, as well as contributing to the generalization and expansion of the participation of young people in public life by helping them to integrate and facilitate their access to culture and science.
