Morocco Launches Emergency Plan to Combat Bee Colony Collapse

Faced with the phenomenon of the disappearance of bee colonies observed in recent months, the Moroccan government has announced measures to accelerate the repopulation of hives.
It is an emergency plan that will be deployed nationwide to relieve beekeepers, reports Al Ahdath al Maghribia, citing statements by Agriculture Minister Mohamed Sadiki.
Speaking at a scientific meeting organized by the Hassan II Agronomic and Veterinary Institute, the minister specified that the specific program that will be put in place will be free and will solve the problem of repopulating the disappeared colonies.
Regarding the source of this problem, Sadiki once again recalled that this phenomenon is in no way related to a disease, as recently confirmed by the National Office of Food Safety (ONSSA).
According to the Office, 22,000 hives are affected by the disappearance, a good part of which are located near Errachidia, the area most affected to date.
