Morocco Launches Construction of 33-Story ’Futuristic’ Hospital in Rabat

The Ibn Sina Hospital in Rabat is embarking on a new dynamic. King Mohammed VI presided over the launch of the construction work of the new "futuristic" Ibn Sina Hospital in Rabat on Thursday.
A futuristic project! This is how experts define the new Ibn Sina Hospital, whose construction work was launched by the Sovereign and will last four years. Once built, this hospital will offer a capacity of 1,044 beds, including 148 beds dedicated to intensive care and intensive care units.
With a total cost of more than 6 billion dirhams, this project aims to strengthen Morocco’s health offer, contribute to the development of hospital infrastructure and the strengthening of basic health services in order to bring them as close as possible to citizens.
The construction of this hospital center will allow "Ibn Sina" to regain its place "as a breeding ground for skills and a medical research structure". The work was launched on a site with a total area of 11.4 hectares. The hospital will consist of a hospitalization tower (R+33 floors, with 2 lower levels), a five-story medical-technical pole (with three lower levels), an 11-story tower (with three lower levels) dedicated to the National League against Cardiovascular Diseases, a Conference Center and another for Training, and a Residence.
As for the health space itself, it will include a hospitalization pole, intensive care units, day hospitals, outpatient clinics, exploration services, emergency and rehabilitation care units, intensive care units, a major burns unit, a severe respiratory disease unit, a hemodialysis center, and technical platforms.
To respect ecological standards, it is planned that the northeastern part of the site, which houses the current hospital, will be developed into green spaces and gardens and will house a museum of medicine and other annexes. It is a state-of-the-art hospital center that meets high-tech standards that will take shape for the happiness of the citizens.
