Morocco’s King Pardons Over 1,400 Prisoners for Throne Feast Celebration

1446 people have been pardoned by King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the Throne Feast. These people convicted of various crimes are either at liberty or in detention.
According to the press release from the Ministry of Justice, the people benefiting from the royal pardon and who are in detention number 1,267 and are divided into several categories. 323 detainees were pardoned while they were sentenced to criminal imprisonment. Similarly, 940 prisoners benefited from the remission of their prison or criminal sentence. 2 detainees had their death sentence commuted to life imprisonment.
As for the beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon who are at liberty, they number 179. There is a pardon on the prison sentence or its balance in favor of 39 people, a pardon on the prison sentence with maintenance of the fine in favor of 8 people. 120 people were exempted from the fine to be paid. 10 people were pardoned on their prison and fine sentences. And finally, the pardon on the balance of the prison sentence and the fine was granted to 2 people.
