Morocco’s King Pardons Over 1,200 Prisoners on Throne Feast

1,243 people have been pardoned by King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the Throne Feast. These people convicted of various crimes are either at liberty or in detention.
The people benefiting from the royal pardon and who are in detention number 1,108, and are divided into several categories, the Ministry of Justice statement said. In total, 1,086 detainees have benefited from the remission of their prison or criminal sentence. There is a pardon on the remainder of the prison or criminal sentence in favor of 19 detainees, the commutation of the life sentence to a fixed-term sentence in favor of 3 detainees.
As for the beneficiaries of the royal pardon who are at liberty, they number 135. There is a pardon on the prison sentence or its remainder in favor of 36 people, a pardon on the prison sentence with maintenance of the fine in favor of 5 people. 92 people were exempted from the fine to be paid. Two people were pardoned on their prison and fine sentences.
