Morocco’s King Pardons 783 Prisoners on Independence Day Anniversary

On the occasion of the commemoration of the presentation of the Manifesto of Independence, King Mohammed VI has decided to grant pardon to 783 people convicted by various courts in the Kingdom.
The beneficiaries of the royal pardon, who are in detention, number 570 inmates, distributed as follows:
• Pardon on the remainder of the prison or imprisonment sentence for 04 inmates.
• Remission of the prison or imprisonment sentence for 552 inmates.
• Commutation of the life sentence to a fixed-term sentence for 13 inmates.
• Commutation of the death sentence to life imprisonment for 1 inmate.
The beneficiaries of the royal pardon who are at liberty number 213 people, distributed as follows:
• Pardon on the prison sentence or its remainder for 56 people.
• Pardon on the prison sentence with maintenance of the fine for 10 people.
• Pardon on the prison and fine sentences for 04 people.
• Pardon on the fine sentence for 143 people.
