Morocco’s King Pardons 761 Prisoners for Eid Al Adha Holiday

Some 761 people have been pardoned by King Mohammed VI on the occasion of Eid Al Adha celebrated this Wednesday, July 21 in Morocco. These people convicted of various crimes are either at liberty or in detention.
According to the press release from the Ministry of Justice, the people benefiting from the royal pardon and who are in detention number 761, and are divided into several categories. In total, 639 detainees have benefited from the remission of their prison or criminal sentence. There is the pardon on the remainder of the prison or criminal sentence in favor of 5 detainees, the commutation of the life sentence to a fixed-term sentence in favor of 14 detainees.
As for the beneficiaries of the royal pardon who are at liberty, they number 103. There is the pardon on the prison sentence or its remainder in favor of 40 people, the pardon on the prison sentence with the maintenance of the fine in favor of 4 people. 57 people were exempted from the fine to be paid. Two people were pardoned on their prison and fine sentences.
