Morocco’s King Pardons 550 Inmates in Revolution Commemoration

King Mohammed VI has pardoned 550 inmates, convicted by various courts of the Kingdom as part of the Commemoration of the Revolution of the King and the People.
The Ministry of Justice specified that the persons in detention and benefiting from the royal pardon are 472 in number and are divided into several categories.
There are 195 inmates pardoned on the remainder of the prison or imprisonment sentence, 275 inmates who benefit from a remission of the prison or imprisonment sentence, and two inmates who benefit from the commutation of the life sentence to a fixed-term sentence.
As for the inmates who are beneficiaries of the royal pardon and who are at liberty, they number 78 people and are also divided into different categories.
37 inmates were pardoned on the prison sentence or its remainder, against three who benefit from the pardon on the prison sentence with maintenance of the fine. In addition, 38 inmates are pardoned on the fine sentence.
As part of the Youth Day celebration, 673 inmates were also pardoned by King Mohamed VI.
