Morocco’s King Pardons 201 African Prisoners for Good Behavior

201 African inmates have been pardoned by King Mohammed VI. These are inmates convicted by the various courts of the Kingdom, who have had good behavior during their prison stay, according to a statement from the Ministry of Justice.
This royal pardon aims to encourage inmates who, throughout their prison stay, have shown good conduct and have had an impeccable behavior, even during rehabilitation and reintegration programs.
"This honorable pardon is part of His Majesty’s humane approach, inspired by the clemency and mercy of his grandfather, the Prophet Muhammad - May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him - for humanitarian reasons for the benefit of elderly or sick inmates. This royal pardon is also an encouragement for those who have shown good conduct and behavior during the execution of their sentence, respecting the laws and standards in force, and who have responded favorably to rehabilitation and reintegration programs," the statement said.
According to the Ministry of Justice, all necessary measures have been taken to facilitate the return of these pardoned inmates to their respective countries.
