Morocco’s King Orders Opening of 26 Mosques Ahead of Ramadan

A few days before the month of Ramadan, King Mohammed VI has just ordered the opening of about twenty mosques that have undergone "reconstruction or restoration work by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs".
In a press release, the ministry states that the 26 mosques, the total cost of which amounts to 147 million dirhams, are divided as follows: 9 new, 13 rebuilt and 4 restored. In total, these places can accommodate around 15,500 worshippers.
It should be noted that as the holy month of Ramadan approaches, it is still unknown whether Moroccans will be able to go to the mosques for the Taraouihs. Despite the continuous improvement of the health situation, and the call of many experts, no official announcement has come to confirm access during this prayer highly appreciated by the faithful.
