Morocco's King Orders Military Medical Support in COVID-19 Fight

King Mohammed VI has instructed the military medical service to participate in the mission to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

"His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), has given his High Instructions to the Army Corps General, Inspector General of the FAR, Abdelfettah Louarrak, to the Army Corps General, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, Mohamed Haramou, and to the Inspector of the Military Health Service of the FAR, the Brigadier General, Mohamed Elabbar, so that the military medical service takes part jointly with the civilian medical service in the delicate mission of fighting the Covid19 pandemic," says a press release from the Royal Cabinet.

"Furthermore, and in order to remedy certain shortcomings observed regarding this pandemic, and to facilitate the transmission and exchange of information between the various services concerned, His Majesty the King has given his very high instructions to deploy military medical resources to reinforce the medical structures dedicated to the management of this pandemic, in the form of medical and paramedical personnel of the FAR and this, from Monday, March 23, 2020," specifies the same source.

"His Majesty the King, may God assist him, exhorts in this particular context, civilian and military doctors to work in good understanding and intelligence, as they have always done, because it is a matter of the health of Moroccans and foreigners present in Morocco," concludes the press release.
