Morocco’s King Orders Aid for Al-Aqsa Mosque Restoration in Jerusalem

King Mohammed VI has just ordered the sending of aid for the restoration and development of certain spaces inside the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also states in a press release that Moroccan architects and craftsmen will be dispatched for the preservation of the centuries-old architectural authenticity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
"This royal generosity is part of the sustained and continuous efforts that the Sovereign continues to deploy at all levels for the benefit of the city of Al Quds Acharif, in support of the resistance of the Maqdessis and the defense of the historical status of this city and in consecration of its civilizational identity and its religious symbolism as an open space of coexistence and tolerance between the different celestial religions," reads the press release.
This aid "is carried out in coordination with the Administration of Islamic Waqfs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan," it is further specified.
On Monday evening, a fire broke out on the Esplanade of the Mosques, which could be the origin of the decision of the Moroccan sovereign.
