Morocco’s King Mohammed VI Prioritizes Renewable Energy Strategy in Royal Meeting

A working session was devoted to the renewable energy strategy at the Royal Palace in Rabat. This meeting is part of the "monitoring of the major projects and strategic projects of the kingdom, was chaired by King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Prince Moulay El Hassan.
The development of renewable energies is a priority worldwide. In the current context, it contributes to the evolution of the global economy and the energy transition. Thus, Morocco has opted for strategic choices, in order to place renewable energies at the heart of the energy mix, and to ensure its development in the future. The sovereign has thus put in place regular monitoring of this vast project, reports La Map.
During the session, Mohammed VI noted the delay observed in the execution of the project, insisting on the need to complete the strategic project within the set deadlines and under the best possible conditions, according to a statement from the royal cabinet.
Several personalities took part in this session, including, among others, the Head of Government, Saad Dine El Otmani, the King’s Advisers, Fouad Ali El Himma and Yassir Zenagui, the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, the Minister of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform, Mohamed Benchaaboun. The same source also mentions the presence of the Minister of Energy, Mines and Environment, Aziz Rebbah, the Director General of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Amina Benkhadra.
The Chairman of the Management Board of the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen) Mustapha Bakkoury, and the Director General of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water Abderrahim El Hafidi, also took an active part in this meeting.
