Morocco’s King Mohammed VI Opens Expanded Casablanca Airport Terminal

After several years of work, but also a lot of delay, the terminal of Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca was inaugurated yesterday by King Mohammed VI.
At a cost of 1.585 billion dirhams for a total area of 76,000 m2, the terminal will be able to handle around 7 million passengers per year. It has eight new aircraft parking stands, including three for wide-body aircraft and one dedicated to the Airbus 380.
Equipped with equipment to streamline passenger flow (moving walkways, automatic doors, escalators, elevators) and 9 telescopic bridges, including a triple bridge for welcoming Airbus A380 aircraft, Terminal 1 also has equipment in terms of safety, security and quality of service.
Moroccans living abroad are not forgotten, as the new terminal also includes offices of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, dedicated to advising and assisting Moroccans residing abroad (MREs).
In total, 25 Moroccan companies and 5 foreign companies participated in the renovation work on the terminal, which will be entirely dedicated to Royal Air Maroc and its partners.
