Morocco’s King Mohammed VI Invited to Qatar World Cup Opening Ceremony

The Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has sent an invitation letter to King Mohammed VI to attend the opening ceremony of the World Cup, whose kick-off is scheduled for Sunday, November 20.
According to well-informed sources, King Mohammed VI has been officially invited to the opening ceremony of the World Cup which will take place in Qatar from November 20 to December 18, reports Maghreb-Intelligence. "All arrangements are being made to prepare for a possible trip by the King to Qatar," says a source in Rabat.
Solicited by Qatar, Morocco is heavily involved in the organization of the 2022 World Cup. It provides its expertise in cybersecurity, in particular the security management of a major sporting event, the surveillance of sports sites and venues, the management of high-intensity gatherings and the security of information systems. The head of the Moroccan police, Abdellatif Hammouchi, will certainly travel to Qatar to stay there throughout the competition.
