Morocco’s King Mohammed VI Cancels Annual Royal Birthday Celebrations

Starting this year, King Mohammed has banned all celebrations related to the celebration of his birthday at the Royal Palace, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery.
No more festivities marking the birthday of King Mohammed VI! This is announced in a statement from the Ministry in charge of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery. Indeed, King Mohammed VI has ordered that from this year on, no official ceremony celebrating the Sovereign’s birthday, which takes place on August 21 each year, be organized at the Royal Palace.
This decision is also valid for the coming years, the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery specifies, in substance, in the same statement.
