Morocco’s King Mohammed VI Briefed on COVID-19 Vaccine Progress

King Mohammed VI consulted with the Minister of Health about the progress of the Covid-19 vaccine under development.
The Council of Ministers chaired by Mohammed VI was devoted to the examination of the general guidelines of the draft finance law for the 2021 fiscal year. A press release from the royal palace spokesman, Abdelhak El Mrini, reports on this. Regarding this vaccine, we learn that the Minister of Health informed Mohammed VI that he is in constant contact with companies and with the Chinese government. In the minister’s opinion, things are evolving in the right direction.
The bulk of the press release deals with the examination of the general guidelines of the draft finance law for the 2021 fiscal year, an examination carried out by the Minister of Economy, Finance and Administrative Reform. The national finance minister stated that this draft law was drawn up in application of the high royal guidelines contained in the "Throne Speech" a few days ago. The minister also recalled, according to this press release, that this draft law outlines the roadmap to overcome the crisis by relying on main components.
First, the first is to build the fundamentals of a strong and competitive economy and a more inclusive social model. The minister did not fail to mention the pandemic context of Covid-19. In addition, this press release highlights the general guidelines of the draft finance law for the 2021 fiscal year. It is a question of accelerating the launch of the national economic recovery plan. To this end, the State will put in place all the means to strengthen the exceptional financial effort underway. The government will also ensure the mechanisms likely to guarantee the necessary effectiveness of the interventions of the Mohammed VI Fund for Investment, the amount of which is 230 billion dirhams. Attention will also be paid to the "Intelaka" Program, for the benefit of young people for their recruitment.
The other axis concerns the generalization of compulsory health insurance through the acceleration of the adoption of amendments relating to the legislative and regulatory framework. The State will therefore support the project of generalization of compulsory health coverage. The budget allocated to the sector in 2021 will increase by nearly two billion dirhams, to reach more than 20 billion dirhams. The third axis according to this press release relates to strengthening the exemplarity of the State and the rationalization of its management. To achieve the objectives, two draft laws are planned. The first concerns the creation of a National Agency and the second, the reform of public establishments and companies.
It should be noted that the Council of Ministers adopted the organic law modifying and supplementing the organic law relating to the appointment to senior positions, the appointment of officials being deliberated in the Council of Ministers. Three legal texts relating to the military field were also the focus of this Council of Ministers, according to this press release from the royal palace spokesman published by La Map.
