Morocco's King Exempts Military Families from Land Registry Fees

King Mohammed VI made a beautiful gesture towards the family of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR). He gave his approval for a draft decree exempting the beneficiaries of the martyrs of the nation, the disabled during military operations and the repatriated and rallied military personnel, from land registry fees. This decree has already come into force.

Decree No. 2.21.481 exempting the beneficiaries of the martyrs of the nation, the disabled during military operations and the repatriated and rallied military personnel, from land registry fees was published in the latest official bulletin. This decree had been examined at the Council of Ministers on June 28 at the Royal Palace in Fez. In a statement issued following this council, it was indicated that "the sovereign gave his approval to a draft decree exempting this category from land registry fees and charging the National Agency for Land Registry, Cadastre and Cartography with the costs of establishing the technical files carried out on their behalf".

How to benefit from this exemption? According to Article 2 of the decree, "in order to benefit from this exemption, it is mandatory to indicate on the applications and contracts addressed to the National Agency for Land Registry, Cadastre and Cartography, that the person concerned is part of the categories covered by this measure, based on a document issued for this purpose by the Hassan II Foundation for the Social Works of Former Military and Former Combatants".

The third article of this decree exempting the beneficiaries of the martyrs of the nation, the disabled during military operations and the repatriated and rallied military personnel, from land registry fees specifies that: "the National Agency for Land Registry, Cadastre and Cartography covers the costs of technical files completed or to be completed for any request".
