Morocco’s King Appoints 30 New Judges to Financial Courts, Boosting Young and Female Representation

King Mohammed VI, President of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, has approved the appointment of 30 new judges to positions of responsibility within the financial courts.
According to a press release from the Court of Auditors, published on Tuesday, the sovereign has appointed sixteen section presidents at the level of the Court of Auditors and fourteen section presidents within the Regional Courts of Auditors.
More specifically, 90% of the appointments are new managers. 27 judges are appointed for the first time. Among them, there are six women judges, or 20% of the appointed managers, and sixteen judges not exceeding the age of 45, or a proportion of 53% of the new managers, the aim being to encourage women and young judges to hold positions of responsibility within the various structures of the financial courts.
These promotions, the same source points out, are proposed by the Judicial Council of the Courts and will allow the Institution of the Court of Auditors to successfully carry out its constitutional missions, in accordance with the royal guidelines.
