Morocco’s Judiciary Council Sanctions 19 Judges, 2 Dismissed from Duties

19 Moroccan judges have been sanctioned this year, revealed the Higher Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ). Among them, two were relieved of their duties.
In a press release issued at the end of the first regular session of the year, which ended on July 27, the body chaired by Mohammed Abdennabaoui announced disciplinary sanctions against 19 judges.
After studying the various files and after hearing the magistrates concerned, the CSPJ decided to dismiss two judges, while two others were retired, the note adds, also stating that four magistrates were provisionally dismissed.
Furthermore, five judges were given a warning and one a reprimand. To this list are added five other judges who risked disciplinary sanctions and who were acquitted, the CSPJ explained, without however giving details of what they were accused of.
