Morocco to Join Global Cybersecurity Summit in Tel Aviv

Morocco will participate alongside the United States, Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain and many other countries in the international cyber-industry summit Cybertech Global 2023 to be held from January 30 to February 1 in Tel Aviv.
Conference sessions, sector-specific special events and an exhibition hall are on the agenda of Cybertech Global 2023. As for the conference sessions, they will cover a wide range of topics and sectors related to cybertechnology, including security, logistics, finance, education and health. The cybertechnology exhibition will showcase the latest innovations and solutions from technology companies, as well as government programs and initiatives in cybersecurity.
A startup pavilion will be made available to startups so that they can showcase their innovations and gain global visibility. Expected at this high-profile event are heads of state, C-suite executives of Fortune-500 companies and others, who will speak in speeches and panels on topics concerning the global cyber community, the event brochure specifies.
Morocco will be represented by El Mostafa Rabii, head of the Directorate General of Information Systems Security (DGSSI), and also director of the Moroccan Computer Emergency Response Team (maCERT), at these proceedings. He will participate in the first-of-its-kind discussion between cybersecurity leaders from the United States, Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain on the second day of the event.

Morocco’s participation is part of the agreement signed in July 2021 between Rabat and Tel Aviv, which aims to promote bilateral efforts in cybersecurity. In November 2021, the kingdom had participated in a cybersecurity attack simulation organized by Israel’s National Cyber Directorate at the Israeli pavilion of Expo 2020 in Dubai.
