Morocco’s Jewish Population Dwindles to 2,000, Down from 250,000 in 1950s

2,000 Jews in Morocco, this is the figure put forward by the Central Bureau of Statistics of Israel. These new data on the presence of Jews in the world were published during the Jewish New Year 5780, on Sunday, October 4.
These figures put forward by the Bureau are all the more shocking as there were nearly 250,000 of them in Morocco in the 1950s.
These data, according to the same source, will be quickly revised downwards after the Exodus and the actions of the Jewish Agency aimed at bringing as many Jews as possible from around the world to Israel.
As for the United States, the country hosting the most Jews internationally, nearly 5.7 million of them reside there. On the other hand, in the Arab and Muslim countries, their number is 26,000, with nearly 15,000 in Turkey and 8,500 in Iran.
