Morocco-Japan U17 (0-2): Nabil Baha promises a "completely different face" against Portugal

Following the failed start of the Atlas Lions at the U17 World Cup, the national coach analyzed the defeat against Japan (0-2). Nabil Baha acknowledged the shortcomings of his team while being determined to correct the aim for the rest of the tournament.

Speaking in Doha after the match, the coach stated that the national team was determined to "show a completely different face" in their next match. He emphasized the need to "analyze what did not work against Japan, correct the mistakes and, above all, talk to the players so that they maintain a positive mindset".

Nabil Baha acknowledged the difficulty of the competition, recalling that Morocco had inherited a "tough group". However, he sought to relativize this initial setback by recalling that "these players have already made us proud and have shown very good things".

The objective of qualification remains Morocco’s priority

Despite this initial defeat, the Moroccan coach reaffirmed that the team’s ambition remained intact. "We still have two matches to play, which will now be the most important for us," he told the press, stressing that "the objective remains to reach the first round".

The next step will therefore be decisive for the reigning African champions. "Our mission is now to properly prepare the match against Portugal and go for the win," insisted Nabil Baha. The Atlas Lions will face Portugal this Thursday, November 6 at the Aspire Zone in Doha for their second outing.
