Morocco-Italy: The Horrific Journey of a Two-Month-Old Girl in a Shopping Bag
A two-month-old girl was smuggled from Morocco to Italy in a shopping bag. Discovered in Turin in poor health, she was hospitalized and placed under social protection.
The journey, involving both land and sea travel, took place under inhumane conditions for the child. To cross the borders without arousing suspicion, the carriers used forged documents and forced the baby to drink to prevent her from crying during the trip. Upon arrival in Piedmont, her health condition required medical care. The investigation reveals that the infant was to be handed over to a third couple under suspicious circumstances.

The justice system has already rendered its first verdicts regarding this transfer from Morocco: two of the individuals involved have been convicted by the courts, while two other suspects await trial. The little girl is now out of danger and is the subject of a social protection measure.
