Morocco Issues Over 80,000 Electronic Visas to Israeli Travelers Since 2022

Israelis have received more than half of the "eVisa" electronic visas issued by Morocco. This emerges from the data published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad.
Since its launch on July 10, 2022, the eVisa system has processed more than 160,000 applications, of which nearly 150,000 have been issued, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. Israelis received more than half, or 55%, a sign of the improved health of relations between Morocco and Israel, which were normalized in December 2020 under the auspices of former US President Donald Trump.
In addition to Israel, the other nationalities that have used this simple and practical electronic visa the most are: India (10%), Nigeria (4.44%), Egypt (4.41%), Pakistan (3.5%) and Jordan (2.7%). "Several foreign nationals subject to this formality benefit from the e-visa depending on their nationality, in particular nationals of Thailand, Jordan, Israel, India, Azerbaijan and Guatemala," notes the department of Nasser Bourita.
Valid for a maximum of 180 days from the date of issue, Morocco’s eVisa has helped support the Moroccan tourism sector in the face of the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and promote the kingdom as a tourist and business destination, in accordance with the instructions of King Mohammed VI, the same source indicates. Of the 150,000 eVisas issued, 96.6% were for tourism, while 3.4% were for business, it is further specified.
