Morocco Issues Orange Alert as Heat Wave Threatens 40°C Temperatures

A heat wave is expected in several provinces of the Kingdom starting this Saturday, announced the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM). Maximum temperatures could reach up to 40°C in some regions, with orange vigilance alerts issued for certain areas.
According to the DGM alert bulletins, the cities of Taroudant, Smara, Tata, Assa-Zag as well as the provinces of Inzegane Ait-Melloul, Agadir Ida-Outanane and Guelmim will be the first to feel the effects of the heat wave with temperatures reaching up to 40°C as of this Saturday.
Other cities in the Kingdom, including Fquih Bensaleh, Beni Mellal, Khouribga, Sidi Bennour, Settat, Marrakech, Chichaoua, El-Kalaa des Sraghna, Youssoufia, Rehamna, Khémisset, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Ouezzane, Moulay Yaacoub and Chtouka Ait Baha, as well as the provinces of Essaouira, Kénitra, Safi and Tan-Tan, will experience temperatures ranging from 34 to 38°C from Sunday to Tuesday.
