Morocco Issues International Warrant for Kuwaiti Man Accused of Child Sexual Abuse

Since the escape of the Kuwaiti pedophile, accused of sexual violence against a 14-year-old minor, and released on bail, the case has seen many twists and turns, following the pressure of associations and human rights organizations.
In a statement to the press on Tuesday, February 18, the activist and lawyer in Marrakech, Tahar Abouzaid, who had joined the case as a civil party, said that several civil rights associations and organizations are fighting for the reopening of the pedophile’s case and for the involvement of the Kuwaiti embassy in the case.
An analysis of the file by the member of the Moroccan Organization for Human Rights revealed that the accused had presented a medical certificate, endorsed by the Kuwaiti embassy, confirming his appointment for a surgical operation.
The lawyer also added that the file contains real guarantees from the Kuwaiti ambassador to Morocco, regarding the appearance of the accused before the court. To this end, the court will have to study, at the hearing on February 25, the possibility of issuing an international arrest warrant against the Kuwaiti national.
