Morocco Invests 11 Million Dirhams in Portable Speed Radars to Boost Road Safety

Morocco remains committed to its goal of reducing road accidents by 50% by 2026. In this sense, the kingdom has decided to acquire portable speed control radars.
The Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water through the National Road Safety Agency (NARSA) has launched a new call for tenders for the acquisition of portable radars, reports Maghreb Intelligence. The contract award will take place next September. The budget allocated to the contract is around 11 million dirhams. Once acquired, the portable speed control radars will be assigned to the police and the Royal Gendarmerie.

In June, the ministry had announced the acquisition of 552 latest generation radars to ensure greater safety and better control on the road network. Radars that will detect speeding and traffic light offenses, etc.
