Modernize its road traffic counting system. This is the objective sought by Morocco by launching an international tender worth 16 million dirhams for the acquisition and installation of automatic road traffic counting devices.
Concretely, this modernized system will allow Morocco to obtain precise information on the number of vehicles, their types, their speeds, as well as the average hourly flow, and to optimize mobility in the kingdom, particularly in urban areas.
Morocco has been using road counting equipment since the 1970s. The purchase of these new devices will allow the kingdom to develop strategies to develop and modernize its road network.
The international tender follows the call for expressions of interest launched last January by the Directorate of Road Works and Exploitation, recalls Challenge. The opening of the bids is scheduled for October 24. The execution time of the contract is 18 months.
