Morocco Introduces Subsidized Face Masks in Pharmacies at 0.8 Dirhams Each

The Moroccan authorities have decided to make subsidized masks available to pharmacies that are out of stock. These masks are now available in these pharmacies.
Only packs of 10 units are available in pharmacies from this weekend. This is after pharmacies were integrated into the distribution circuit of subsidized masks, manufactured in Morocco. The unit costs 0.8 dirhams. The General Directorate of the Ministry of Commerce has set the pharmacists’ margin at 25% in order to guarantee the final selling price.
The same directorate has also set the supplier margins to wholesalers, as well as the symbolic margins of wholesalers and pharmacists. Thus, the selling price for manufacturers is set at 6 DH; that of the sole supplier at 6.20 DH (chosen by mutual agreement between the General Directorate of Commerce and the GPDP (Professional Group of Pharmaceutical Distribution); that of pharmaceutical wholesalers at 6.5 DH; and finally, that of retail sale by pharmacies, at 8 DH per box of 10 units.
