Morocco Introduces National ID Cards for Children, Enhancing Digital Security

Moroccan children now also have the right to their own national identity card. The stamp price will also be more advantageous than for adults.
In Rabat, 3 minor children have just received their first electronic national identity card, 5 months after the government adopted draft decree number 2.20.521, relating to the implementation of law 04.02 on the CNIE.
"A fast and secure bridge" to digital services, to use the terms of the Minister of the Interior, the new generation of identity cards meets advanced security standards and ensures great security for citizens. For children, this functionality is more than crucial, at a time when crimes are constantly increasing.
The electronic national identity card has a validity of 10 years for those over 12 years old, and 7 years for children under that age. The draft decree also set the stamp fee for CNIE for under 12s at 50 dirhams instead of 75 dirhams in force.
