Morocco’s Interior Ministry Reshuffles Leadership Ahead of Government Overhaul

Pending the ministerial reshuffle expected in the coming weeks, the Ministry of the Interior has also decided to renew its executives.
In Morocco, each ministerial department is trying to get in step. This decision comes after the royal speech of July 29, 2019, which invited the Head of Government, Saad Eddine El Otmani, to "submit proposals to renew and enrich positions of responsibility, both within the Government and in the Administration".
The Ministry of the Interior has embarked on a proactive approach. Without waiting for the political return, it has, since the beginning of this month, redeployed certain authority agents, not to mention nearly 117 graduates of the Royal Institute of Territorial Administration in Kenitra, reports Challenge.
The corporation of Walis is not spared by this redeployment. The same source announced the organization of a meeting between the Minister in charge, Abdelouafi Laftit, and the departments concerned. This meeting resulted in the establishment of a list of Secretaries General and Walis.
A few months ago, King Mohammed VI had appointed six new Walis.
