Morocco Imposes Intercity Travel Ban to Curb Coronavirus Spread

Faced with the rapid spread of coronavirus, Morocco is now banning travel between cities.
Among the measures taken by the Ministry of the Interior to counter the spread of coronavirus, there is the ban on private and public means of transport between cities, except for the transport of goods. It has been found that many salespeople continue to travel between cities with the certificate issued by the Mokaddem as well as another document given by the employer.
While he went, on Monday, April 6 at 9 a.m., from the metropolis to the capital, to pick up an order, a salesman working for a Moroccan operator, was prohibited from returning to Casablanca a few hours later, reports Hespress. The police elements blocked him at the exit of the capital. Even though he brandished the two documents in his possession, the refusal of the police was categorical.
It was made clear to the salesman that travel between cities - even in the context of work - is now prohibited due to the rapid spread of the new coronavirus in the kingdom. The police ordered him to go to the Wilaya of Rabat where he will be tested for covid-19. If he tests negative, the authorities will help him return to the metropolis.
