Morocco’s ICUs Overwhelmed: 90% of Critical COVID Patients Unvaccinated, Doctor Reports

Abdelfattah Chakib, a doctor at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital in Casablanca, also a member of the scientific and technical committee, says that 90% of patients in intensive care are not vaccinated against Covid-19. They are among the skeptics of vaccination.
"Many people prefer to believe in rumors to justify their refusal to get the vaccine and today they are paying the price dearly in the intensive care units," Abdelfattah Chakib explained to 2M. According to his explanations, due to the Delta variant, the hospital stay of patients infected with Covid-19 is longer compared to those who contracted the classic strain of the coronavirus last year.
Morocco is facing a surge in Covid-19 cases in recent weeks. In total, 10,828 new cases including 376 severe or critical and 104 deaths were recorded on Thursday, August 12, 2021. "We have to expect at least 15 days before expecting a drop in new cases," said this doctor at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital in Casablanca.
