The Moroccan Agency for Nuclear and Radiological Safety and Security (AMSSNuR) is organizing training on nuclear safety for several African countries. This training is part of the implementation of its cooperation program with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
A total of 25 executives from Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Senegal and Tunisia are participating alongside national actors in a training session on nuclear safety that started on August 22, 2022 at the AMSSNuR headquarters and will end on August 31. The training aims to share know-how and best practices in accordance with IAEA recommendations, the agency said in a statement.
During the training, participants will be able to visit the nuclear reactor managed by the National Center for Energy, Sciences and Nuclear Techniques (CNESTEN). They will also be able to learn about the inspection program that AMSSNuR has advised the center to adopt.
