Morocco to Host Africa’s Largest Green Hydrogen Electrolyzer Plant

The electrolyzer specialist, the Belgian John Cockerill, has just signed an agreement with a Moroccan company to build one of the largest electrolyzer factories.
The new alkaline electrolyzer factory will be the largest in Africa with a capacity of 5 megawatts per electrolyzer stack, say the two partners, who aim to promote the green hydrogen industry in order to deliver the product at an advantageous rate, reports H2mobile.
"Our company is delighted to put its technology and know-how at the service of Morocco’s energy transition," says Raphaël Tilot, the executive chairman of John Cockerill Hydrogen. Present in 24 other countries, the John Cockerill group employs around 650 people in Morocco.
"This factory will make a significant contribution to the country’s renewable energy and green hydrogen production targets. It will promote the establishment by major industrialists in the country of an energy ecosystem based on solar and wind power," said the official.
