Even before arriving in Morocco, the couple fell victim to theft of the wife’s identity documents and bank card at a Paris airport. Once there, a new problem emerged: despite a confirmed reservation on Expedia, the hotel found no trace of their stay.

The two retirees then found themselves in the medina’s narrow streets, suitcases in hand, without accommodation and unable to quickly reach an advisor, reports Le Bien Public.

This case illustrates a frequent problem during the summer season: travelers think they are protected because they have a reservation confirmation, but the situation can become complicated if the hotel claims to have received nothing or if the platform is slow to respond.
