Morocco Health Officials Refute Rumors of COVID-19 Vaccine-Related Deaths

The regional health directorate (DRS) of Fès-Meknès has denied the rumors of recent days reporting the death of two elderly people after being vaccinated against Covid-19. According to it, these fabricated information, have no other purpose than to sabotage the ongoing national vaccination campaign.
The DRS assured that "the staff of the vaccine pharmacovigilance system are overseeing the vaccination operation and have not detected any worrying symptoms, except for mild side effects (redness, slight swelling at the injection site, slight fever)."
In a statement, the directorate stresses that like any medicine or medical product, the vaccine against Covid-19 can cause mild side effects in some people. But no deaths have been reported and clinical trials have not reported any.
While denouncing these actions that undermine the credibility of the efforts made to effectively fight against Covid-19, the DRS of Fès-Meknès warns the authors of this kind of fake news. It urges citizens to respect the necessary preventive and precautionary measures and to adhere responsibly to this decisive stage.
