Morocco’s Health Ministry Urges Unvaccinated to Get COVID-19 Shots as Campaign Slows

The slowness currently recorded in the administration of anti-Covid vaccines in Morocco has prompted a reaction from the Ministry of Health. In a press release, the department of Khalid Ait Taleb has called on all stakeholders involved to accelerate the progress of the national vaccination process.
The pace of the national vaccination campaign launched at the end of January must change to allow Morocco to initiate a return to normal life. In the press release issued on Saturday, October 16, the Ministry of Health invites all people aged 12 and over, targeted by this large-scale operation, to participate in this national process by going to the nearest vaccination center, regardless of the home address, to receive the first or second Covid-19 vaccine.
Similarly, the ministry invites the elderly and those with chronic diseases and serious pathologies who have received the two vaccine doses for more than 6 months, to come forward to receive their third dose. The aim is to strengthen their immunity against Covid-19 and to prevent complications in case of contamination.
As of October 16, 23,230,919 million people have received the first injection, 20,908,945 million have a complete vaccination schedule (first and second dose). 644,722 people have received the third dose.
