Morocco’s Health Ministry Seeks Probe into Blogger’s COVID-19 Spending Allegations

The Ministry of Health is requesting the opening of an investigation into "defamatory accusations made by a blogger". The complaint was filed on Wednesday, September 9.
The blogger who finds herself in the sights of the ministry has posted on social networks a video in which she made serious accusations. She accuses the ministry and its head of manipulating public procurement and lacking transparency in the management of public funds. She was referring in her video to the purchase of equipment for Covid-19 screening tests, and the acquisition of protective masks.
The Ministry of Health has therefore decided to prosecute the person concerned for "defamatory and slanderous accusations", which are "acts punishable by law in accordance with the code of criminal procedure", it is written.
