Morocco’s Health Ministry Refutes Reports of Heart Medication Shortage

Is the "Sintrom 4 mg" in short supply or not, as reported in a national newspaper? The Ministry of Health claims that this drug prescribed for cardiac patients is indeed available and has never been out of stock in pharmacies.
In a press release, the Ministry of Health reassured patients that "this drug is locally manufactured under its strict control" and is therefore available in sufficient quantities. In addition, "the stock of essential medicines is monitored on a weekly basis by the National Observatory of Medicines and Health Products (ONMPS)". A shortage of such an important drug would have been reported and resolved within a reasonable time, reports the Map.
The ministry condemned the publication of such information, which "damages the country’s reputation and its health system". It called on the public to beware of these rumors, which are intended to discredit the efforts made to ensure the normal functioning of the various health facilities.
