Morocco’s Health Experts Address COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Concerns

Faced with the various concerns raised by some Moroccans about the potential side effects of the anti-Covid vaccine, the technical and scientific committee has broken its silence. They wanted to put an end to the misinformation widely circulated on social networks.
Since the national vaccination campaign was announced, the determination to protect against the virus has given way to distrust among some Moroccans who fear the vaccine, sometimes accusing the authorities of wanting to lead them towards an experience much more painful than the health crisis itself. According to the technical and scientific committee on the anti-Covid vaccination, "the side effects observed during the clinical trials of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine are very normal."
These, according to the committee, "are a slight local pain at the injection site of the vaccine, a slight rise in temperature or even headaches." These are side effects that subside with the taking of over-the-counter medications, reports the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia.
The experts of the technical and scientific committee have reassured the population that these potential side effects are similar to those observed in infants and children after the injection of a vaccine authorized by the Ministry of Health. The Committee calls on the targeted population to be vaccinated to inform themselves from official sources and not to be misled by fake news, at the risk of slowing down the efforts of the Ministry of Health to achieve collective immunity.
Morocco is awaiting the final delivery of vaccine batches to start this vaccination campaign, which aims to reach 80% of the population, the same source specifies.
