24 hours after the adoption of the decree, some courts in the kingdom have been seized and have quickly implemented the new provisions. The first verdict was handed down on Monday, against 2 people who had violated the confinement rules.
The court of first instance of Imin Tanout sentenced 2 young people to a one-month prison sentence with a fine of 1,200 dirhams, for having violated the measures of the state of health emergency.
The two individuals were arrested on Friday, March 20 at night, a few hours after the entry into force of the quarantine of the entire population, aimed at limiting the spread of the coronavirus epidemic in Morocco.
