Morocco Grants 20,000 DH Emergency Allowance to Citizens Stranded Abroad Due to COVID-19

An exceptional allowance of 20,000 DH is granted to Moroccans stranded abroad. It is the Office of Foreign Exchange and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Moroccans Residing Abroad who have decided to take this measure.
20,000 DH per adult individual. This is the amount of the exceptional allowance granted to Moroccans stranded abroad. The purpose of this allowance is to assist citizens who are stuck outside Moroccan territory due to the COVID-19 crisis. This is an exceptional tourist allowance.
However, a few conditions must be met. Being a resident of Morocco, in a situation of being blocked abroad and having exhausted all foreign exchange allowances of all kinds, to be eligible for this exceptional allowance. It is the Professional Group of Banks in Morocco that is instructed by the Foreign Exchange Office to make the allowance available.
The allowance is served after receiving the applicant’s request electronically, accompanied by a copy of their national identity card or passport, by the banks. It can be transferred in the form of a money order or loaded onto the payment card.
