Morocco Funds 42 Social Economy Projects to Boost Rural Tourism and Women’s Development

The Ministry of Tourism, Crafts, Air Transport and Social Economy has announced the financing of 42 projects in the field of the social and solidarity economy as part of the 1st edition of the call for projects of the "Moazara" program.
In a press release, the ministry of [Nadia Fettah] presented the projects divided into income-generating activities (38%), creation of digital platforms for marketing (24%), creation of digital training platforms (19%) and capacity building of sector actors (19%). 50% of these projects are in the rural world while 52% concern the economic and social development of rural women.
They are financed up to 2 million DH and aim to reduce the economic and social repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic. In total, 200 requests for financial contribution to development projects were submitted by the organizations concerned located in different regions of the Kingdom, the same press release continues.
This "Moazara" program aims to federate the capacities of the different parties in order to support the process of inclusive growth of women and young people through the support of development projects and social and collective innovations for the benefit of organizations in the social and solidarity economy sector with a positive impact on sustainable development, specifies the supervisory ministry.
