Morocco’s Fuel Industry Faces Crisis as Illegal Mobile Truck Sales Surge

In a complaint to the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, the National Federation of Owners, Merchants and Managers of Service Stations in Morocco denounces the sale of fuels by mobile trucks, in violation of the regulations in force.
The National Federation of Owners, Merchants and Managers of Service Stations in Morocco "has received several letters from various parties documenting that mobile trucks equipped with pumps are marketing fuel outside of all applicable regulations," can be read in the complaint addressed to Leïla Benali.
The Federation denounces these acts which it considers serious because, causing damage to the authorized service station managers. It also warns of the threats that these illegal practices could pose to safety, as well as their negative impact on the sector and the national economy.
Denouncing unfair competition that could lead to chaos and anarchy in the sector, the owners and managers of service stations call on the supervisory minister to act quickly in order to find a viable solution to this situation.
At the same time, they are asking for a thorough investigation to identify the supply sources of these illegal sellers and to verify the compliance of their facilities with quality and safety standards.
