Morocco’s Foreign Minister Slams Polisario Actions as UN Sahara Meeting Looms

The latest provocations by the Polisario in Guergarate outrage Morocco a few days before the UN meeting on the Sahara. In a statement to the press, Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, recalled that "the acts of these bandits" will not influence Morocco’s efforts to respect international commitments.
"Morocco has always considered that there is no political process with gangs, nor with bandits and all those who have lost their credibility and who operate as armed groups and gangs," said the Moroccan Foreign Minister in a firm tone.
Continuing his denunciation in Dakhla during the inauguration of a new embassy, Nasser Bourita specified that those who engage in provocation violate international regulations.
For the minister, Morocco cannot discuss "with bandits in the true sense of the word", arguing that this situation "cannot constitute the basis of any political process". He also clarified the recent statements of the United Nations Secretary-General on these provocations, which are illegitimate within the Security Council.
