Morocco's Foreign Minister Accuses Algeria of Urging Boycott of Crans Montana Forum

Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, stated that official documents from Algeria are inviting other countries to boycott the Crans Montana Forum.

"The Crans Montana Forum will be held on the scheduled date and will experience the same success as in previous years, given that the logic of Morocco has always been a logic of construction," assures Nasser Bourita. He emphasizes that the kingdom defends all opportunities for cooperation and dialogue in the southern provinces. "If a party wants to stand in the way of this logic, let it assume its responsibilities," he added.

Nasser Bourita persists and signs: the kingdom knows its path well and will not deviate from it. He reaffirms that Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara is not the subject of a process that consists of convincing a well-known party to engage in a constructive effort to end this artificial conflict. He will recall that the kingdom "never puts its sovereignty over the Sahara on the negotiating table or any other process."

According to his explanations, King Mohammed VI has decided that Morocco will not remain inactive and has launched a new model of development for the southern provinces, while working for the consecration of the international recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara.

The dynamic of strengthening the recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara, assures Nasser Bourita, is following its course. Moreover, he announces the upcoming opening of consulates of other countries in Laayoune and Dakhla and the holding of several diplomatic deadlines in these two cities.
