Morocco’s Financial Sector Boosts Anti-Corruption Training for 2021

As part of an effective fight against corruption, Bank Al-Maghrib and two other key institutions in the financial sector, in partnership with the National Anti-Corruption Authority (INPPLC), met on January 18th for the annual review meeting of the anti-corruption cooperation agreement in the financial sector. Among other resolutions, the participants decided to strengthen the capacities of the sector’s stakeholders for good management of the risk of corruption in the financial sector.
During the meeting, it was also decided to strengthen the capacities of all the players in the sector, both in terms of skills and tools and approach. In this context, the organization of specialized training, thematic seminars as well as expertise sharing and assistance actions in the implementation of anti-corruption mechanisms are planned for 2021.
These are online trainings that will be carried out according to the best standards and practices observed at the national level. For the speakers at this decision-making and evaluation meeting, "all these actions reflect the common will of the four parties to continue actively contributing collectively to the national effort in the field of prevention and fight against corruption". It is also a question of working to promote integrity and good governance in the financial sector.
On another level, the participants looked at the assessment of the year 2020, which was marked by the deployment of a large-scale awareness campaign that mobilized more than 300 leaders and representatives of the financial sector in all its components. It was also in 2020 that a project to map corruption risks in the banking sector was launched.
