Hicham Dguig’s men head into the final with impressive statistics: four matches, four wins and 23 goals scored without conceding a single one. After crushing Algeria (4-0), they swept aside Zambia (7-0), Libya (6-0), then Egypt (6-0) in the semi-final on Monday night.

One final obstacle now stands in the Moroccans’ way: Angola, who have just staged a spectacular comeback against Algeria. Trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Angolans scored three goals in nine minutes, between the 29th and 38th minutes, to secure their place in the final (3-2).

Morocco face their 2024 final opponent again

The matchup brings back fond memories for Moroccan supporters. Two years ago, the Atlas Lions beat Angola 5-1 in Rabat to claim their third African crown. The same opponent now stands in their way as they pursue a fourth title.

Winners in 2016, 2020 and 2024, Morocco currently share the record for continental titles with Egypt. Another victory would make them the sole record holders and give them four consecutive titles.

For Angola, the stakes are equally historic: winning their first African title. Runners-up in 2024, the Palancas Negras showed against Algeria that they can turn around a match that has gone against them. Morocco will look to maintain their unbeaten record in this edition in front of their home crowd.

The third-place match between Egypt and Algeria is scheduled for 5 p.m. Morocco time at the same venue. It will precede the Morocco-Angola clash, which supporters in Morocco and abroad will also be able to watch live thanks to the free broadcast on CAF TV.
